About Us
Sarah Holberry-Byrom (AKA Sarah HB)
By day I work full time for the NHS, by night and weekends I am a canine training instructor and behaviour advisor. Having undertaken many practical training and academic courses by the world famous John Rogerson of the Northern Centre for Canine Behaviour, Turid Rugaas, Sheila Harper and many more courses on training, behaviour, K9 massage and K9 first aid. I am also a Kennel Club Student working towards KC accredited instructor status. I am also awaiting assessment from the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour to certify me as an ADTB accredited instructor.
I have owned a variety of cross breeds mainly GSD crosses. I currently own three dogs; a Collie x German Sheppard, Kiya who is almost 9yrs, who I’ve had since a puppy. She is my certified Pets as Therapy dog, a Border Collie (WSD), Tizzy who is 2yrs old again had from a puppy who is my agility superstar and a Collie x, Fudge who came to me via the RSPCA. He had to be trained and socialised for re-homing as he had had little interaction with humans and was extremely scared. However, he quickly became part of our pack and we decided to keep him.
As well as being co-founder and trainer for Full of Praise I have also been club Secretary and committee member for another dog training club for 3 years. I compete in competitive agility and obedience and help to organise agility shows both kennel club and charity, and work as a steward at both. I am a keen enthusiast having trained a wide variety of dog breeds covering all the companion, hunting, guarding and pastoral categories from puppies through to seniors.

Having recently been made redundant from a 10 year position as Commercial Marketing Manager, I am now able to concentrate on the training of dogs full time. I am an Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour Qualified Instructor. I have attended practical training courses by John Rogerson of the Northern Centre for Canine Behaviour and other courses including workshops on Tellington TTouch and Canine Massage.
I have owned a variety of breeds and cross breeds but currently own a 4yr old border collie (WSD) called Raspberry Muffin (AKA Raz) and an 18mth old miniature Jack Russell Terrier called Poppy. I have owned both since puppies but have had previous rescues in the past, sadly no longer with us. I compete in both agility and obedience with Raz & Poppy is about to embark on Agility training.
I have been an active member of two other dog training clubs for 15 years: serving on a committee as secretary for 10 years and as an intermittent trainer for both clubs, regularly helping organise both agility and obedience shows run by both clubs every year.
I am also involved in scouting, having been honoured to have gained the prestigious Queens Scout Award when a Venture Scout – the highest possible accolade within the movement. I am still active within the scouts, and hold two positions – one as Assistant Scout Leader with 1st Hazel Grove and the other as Appointments Secretary, processing CRBs and assessing the qualities of prospective leaders to Ladybrook Valley District.
